Ok, I admit it. IT IS SUPERHARD TO COMMIT TO A POST A
DAY!!!!
But, before jumping to any conclusion, lemme tell you this.
Not a day passed without me feeling this deep guilt for not writing anything.
So, you see, I want to write something, but I failed, but it is ermm sort of “
sentiasa di dalam ingatan” thingy, so I think I not hopeless yet.. aahahhaha…
Summing those days, I opened up my Thai kitchen and invited
my parents+bro. we had nasi putih, siakap
3 rasa, sotong goreng tepung, kalian ikan masin , telur dadar and my superb
the teh tarik ( but seriously delish
and no secret recipe to it. Simply use loose tea leaves, strain manually – alah macam kat kedai buat tu, just
boiled water, susu pekat and susu sejat – any brand is ok to me. Do
it right, get the right colour, the right sweetness and creaminess, walla marvelous the for everyone)
The sotong goring tepung is crunchy super nice. I meant, I
like it, hubs looooves it.. dip in the thai sweet chilli sauce..simply yums. I
don’t go for life brand thai sauce, go look for those imported from thai, or I
use angel brand. The recipe? Check it out:
Sotong goreng tepung
@ fried squid (?)
( I copied this recipe somewhere from FB, thanks to whoever
you are.)
Squids, wash, cut ring, dry with towel or kitchen tissue
1:1 ratio flour and rice flour
Pinch of salt
Pinch of black pepper(BP)
*Put flours, salt and black pepper in a container that have
lid. Mix well. Put dried squids. Shake well till all skin cover with flour.
Take out the squid on a plate. Pour water into remaining flour mixture, (if its
too little, add more flour, salt and BP according to above). Mixture should be too thick nor too watery.
*oil enough for deep frying. Heat oil. Dip floured squid
into mixture and straight into the hot oil. Do one by one. (medium fire) once coating is golden, its
ready to be taken out.
*done. Ready for santapan.
Ok enough of the recipe. Lets talk about yesterday’s
achievement. #kakakSA finally can read the time. The analogue clock okay. She
is 6. I am a paranoid mom. I look into standard one’s syllabus. They will learn
about time reading. I am afraid that she wouldn’t be able to catch up. You see,
next year she’ll be joining the gov school. Usually in gov school, there will
be up to 30 or more kids in a class. How on earth can the teacher teach and
ensure that all of them master the lesson? So I am paranoid like that.
I’ll share how to teach time reading to a six years old in
other post.
As of today, I’ve prepared homemade playdough. 5 different
colours in total. The recipe used today is a good one. Last time I made a
batch. It was not as soft and the texture was grainy. I was not satisfied with
the first and tried with today’s recipe. It works to my standard.
We have few playdoh equipment. But ran out of playdoh dough.
Buying is expensive. Especially during this time. Even eating out freely is not
an option anymore. Before, we spent around RM 40ish for lunch outside. Now bill
goes up to 60, 70 even 80. That is crazy man. The pay does not go up as fast!
In the end, I cannot pay them tho hubs is ok to eat out sometimes. I cannot
bring myself to pay because 1) too expensive 2) Food is very simple for the
price. Secret recipe’s kids menu of fish and chips cost around RM18 ++. Small
portion with big price. TT 3) I can cook better 4) Food from my kitchen is
yummier 5) I buy AFR chicken, which is safer Inshaallah, fresh fish from the
wet market, etc etc 6) not worth eating outside anymore.
But we still go for roti canai sometimes in the weekends.
Hahaha..
Back to playdough, lets share the recipe in later post ok. I
am tired of hitting the keyboard. Man (next time I going to use lady insteadof
man! ), I am no typist for sure. Cannot brain how I managed working as
secretary back then.
